AI Video Cost Calculator — Compare Per-Clip Prices Across Models

Eight vendors, one basis: dollars per second and dollars per standard 8-second clip at 1080p. Every price links to the vendor page it came from and the date it was checked (2026-11-08).

An 8-second 1080p clip costs $0.80 to $5.44. That range covers every per-second price in our file that names a 1080p tier — 22 rows from Runway, Kling and Luma. The floor is Runway's gemini_omni_flash_1.2 at $0.10 per second; the ceiling is Runway's seedance2_5 at $0.68 per second. Kling 3.0 without native audio sits in between at $0.112 per second, or $0.896 for the same 8 seconds.

The other seven vendors in our file do not publish a per-second 1080p rate. Google Vertex AI and MiniMax/Hailuo sell fixed clips; Pika and HeyGen sell monthly plans; fal.ai, Replicate and Sora bill per second but do not state a 1080p tier, and Replicate's rows top out at 720p. Luma does publish a per-second 1080p rate, but only for its Reframe operation; its text-to-video and video-to-video clips are sold by length. That is not a data gap we can paper over — it is how they sell.

Every price was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 2026-11-08. No estimates, no averages across vendors.

What each vendor charges

Cheapest tracked price per vendor, at 1080p where the vendor offers it. Per-second rows first, then per-clip, then monthly.

Vendor Cheapest tracked option Listed price Billing Cost of 8s Official or resale
fal.ai H3 Max Turbo, image to video $0.015 per second $0.12 Resale
Replicate wan-2.1-i2v (480p) $0.09 per second $0.72 Resale
Runway gemini_omni_flash_1.2 (1080p) $0.10 per second $0.80 Official
OpenAI (Sora) Sora 2 $0.10 per second $0.80 Official, resolution not stated
Kling Kling 3.0, no native audio (1080p) $0.112 per second $0.896 Official
Google Vertex AI Veo 3.1 Lite, video only (1080p) $0.05 per clip — Official
MiniMax (Hailuo) Hailuo-2.3-Fast (1080p, 6s) $0.33 per clip (6s) — Official
Luma Ray T2V/I2V (1080p, 5s) $1.20 per clip (5s) — Official
Pika Starter plan $10 per month — Official
HeyGen Creator plan $29 per month — Official

Two rows need a footnote. fal.ai's cheapest row does not state a resolution, and its other rows are different models at higher rates — H3 Max is $0.03 per second and Kling Video is $0.07 per second. Replicate's cheapest row is 480p; its 720p row is $0.25 per second, which is $2.00 for 8 seconds.

How we calculate a clip price

Three formulas cover every row in the file.

Per-second models — multiply the rate by the clip length:

cost = seconds × price per second
8s × $0.112/s = $0.896 (Kling 3.0, no native audio, 1080p)
8s × $0.68/s = $5.44 (Runway seedance2_5, 1080p)

Per-clip models — the clip length is fixed by the vendor, so one clip is one charge:

cost = clips × price per clip
1 × $0.33 = $0.33 (Hailuo-2.3-Fast, 1080p, 6s)

Batches — multiply either result by the number of clips:

20 clips × 8s × $0.188/s = $30.08 (Runway kling_4, 1080p)
12 clips × $1.20 = $14.40 (Luma Ray T2V, 1080p, 5s)

A cross-check that the file is internally consistent: Luma prices Ray Reframe at $0.36 per second at 1080p, and prices Ray T2V/I2V at $3.60 for a 10-second 1080p clip. Ten seconds at $0.36 is $3.60. The two rows agree.

Why the same model has two prices

Several models appear twice: once from the company that built it, once from a platform that resells it. This is not a discount or a mistake. It is a reseller markup, and it can run in either direction.

Model Owner's rate Reseller's rate Difference
Kling 3.0, 4K $0.42/s (Kling) $0.43/s (Runway kling3.0_4k) +2.4% on the resale row
Kling 3.0 Pro, no audio $0.112/s at 1080p (Kling) $0.12/s (Runway kling3.0_pro) +7%, but Runway's row states no resolution
Kling 3.0 Standard, no audio $0.112/s at 1080p (Kling) $0.09/s (Runway kling3.0_standard) −20%, same caveat

fal.ai and Replicate resell as well, but the models they host are not sold directly in this file, so there is no owner-versus-reseller pair to show for them.

We keep these rows separate everywhere on the site. We never average them into one number, because a "Kling price" that mixes the official rate with a reseller's rate is not a price anyone can actually pay.

What this table does not include

  • Retries. Every failed generation that still bills is a full charge. None of the rates above include a retry allowance.
  • Minimum charges. Some Runway rows bill a floor regardless of clip length — aleph2 has a 56-credit minimum, which at 28 credits per second means any clip under 2 seconds costs 2 seconds' worth. See the Runway page for the full list.
  • Reference images and input video. Runway's per-second rates for several models add 1 credit per reference image, or bill input video at the same per-second rate. An 8-second output built from a 10-second input can cost more than 8 × the rate.
  • Subscription credit conversion. Pika and HeyGen sell credits, not seconds. Their pricing pages do not state how many credits one video costs, so we do not convert credits into a per-clip figure.
  • Tax, currency conversion and card fees.

FAQ

How much does one AI video clip cost?

On per-second pricing with a stated 1080p tier: $0.80 to $5.44 for 8 seconds. On per-clip pricing: $0.05 (Veo 3.1 Lite, 1080p, video only) to $4.32 (Luma Ray V2V, 10s, 1080p). If you drop to 720p, the per-second floor falls to $0.03 for Runway's grok_imagine_1_5_lite, or $0.24 for 8 seconds. All figures checked 2026-11-08.

Why is the same model cheaper on one site than another?

Because one site is the model owner and the other is a reseller. Kling charges $0.112 per second for 1080p output without native audio; Runway resells Kling 3.0 Pro without audio at $0.12 per second. The reseller price is not always higher either — Runway's kling3.0_standard without audio is $0.09 per second, below Kling's own $0.112, but that row does not state a resolution, so the two are not a like-for-like comparison.

Can I compare a per-second price with a per-clip price?

Only after converting one of them. Divide the per-clip price by its clip length to get a per-second equivalent, then multiply by your clip length. Luma's 5-second 1080p Ray T2V clip is $1.20, which is $0.24 per second. Its 10-second 1080p clip is $3.60, which is $0.36 per second — 50% more per second for the longer clip.

Which vendor is cheapest per second?

Among the rows that state a resolution and bill per second, the floor is $0.015 per second at fal.ai (H3 Max Turbo, image to video), but that row states no resolution and fal.ai is a reseller. Among rows that state 1080p, the floor is $0.10 per second at Runway (gemini_omni_flash_1.2). We say "cheapest among the vendors tracked" rather than "cheapest" because our file covers 10 vendors, not the market.

Does resolution really change the price that much?

Yes, and unevenly. Runway's gemini_omni_flash_1.2 goes $0.02/s at 360p, $0.07/s at 720p, $0.10/s at 1080p and $0.21/s at 4K. Kling 3.0 without audio goes $0.084/s at 720p, $0.112/s at 1080p and $0.42/s at 4K — the 1080p-to-4K step nearly quadruples the rate.

How often do these prices change?

We re-read the pricing pages and stamp every row with its check date; this page is 2026-11-08. Vendors change rates without notice, and one row in our file is already promotional: Runway's kling_4 is 20% off through 2026-11-30 UTC, so $0.188/s at 1080p reverts to a list rate of 23.5 credits, or $0.235/s, after that date.

Source and date. Every price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 2026-11-08 and stored in one file of 153 usable rows (Runway 60, Kling 27, Google Vertex AI 21, Luma 15, MiniMax/Hailuo 11, fal.ai 6, Pika 5, HeyGen 4, OpenAI 2, Replicate 2). A 154th record for Higgsfield failed extraction and is excluded. Resale rows are labelled: fal.ai, Replicate and the third-party models on Runway host another company's model and are not the model owner's official rate.
