One 8-second 1080p clip runs $0.80 to $5.44 on per-second pricing, or $0.05 to $1.20 for a 1080p per-clip purchase, depending on the vendor's clip length. Enter five values — model, duration, resolution, audio, quantity — and the calculator returns the price of one clip and the price of the batch.
This page documents the calculator above the text: what each input does to the number, and where the arithmetic stops being trustworthy.
The five inputs
| Field | What to enter | How it changes the price | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Model | One of the 153 priced rows, grouped by vendor | Sets the base rate and the billing unit | Kling 3.0, no native audio, 1080p: $0.112/s |
| Duration | Clip length in seconds. Per-clip vendors sell 5, 6 or 10 seconds; per-second vendors take any length | Multiplies a per-second rate. Ignored by per-clip models, which have fixed lengths | 8s × $0.112 = $0.896 |
| Resolution | 360p, 480p, 512p, 540p, 720p, 768p, 1080p, 2K or 4K, depending on model | Selects a different rate row, not a multiplier | Runway 1080p $0.10/s vs 4K $0.21/s |
| Audio | On or off, only where the vendor prices it separately | Adds 20% to 100% to the rate | Kling 1080p: $0.112/s without native audio, $0.168/s with |
| Quantity | Number of clips in the batch | Multiplies the per-clip price | 20 × $1.344 = $26.88 |
Model
Rates are stored per row, not per vendor, because one vendor can publish dozens of them: Runway alone has 29 distinct per-second rates across 60 rows, from $0.02 to $1.50. The model list shows the billing unit next to each name, and marks resale rows — Kling, Veo, Seedance, Wan and Hailuo models sold through Runway, and models hosted on fal.ai and Replicate.
Duration
Duration is the field people get wrong. Per-second models scale linearly, so 8 seconds costs exactly twice 4 seconds. Per-clip models do not. Luma sells 5-second and 10-second clips only; MiniMax sells 6-second and 10-second clips; Veo is billed per generation with no clip length stated in its price rows. If you type 7 seconds into a Luma row, the calculator rounds to the nearest length the vendor sells and says so.
Resolution
Not every model offers every tier. Where a row states a resolution, the calculator hides the other tiers for that model instead of guessing a multiplier. Where a row does not state a resolution — Sora 2, fal.ai's rows, several Runway rows such as gen4.5 — the field is locked and the output warns that the rate is resolution-agnostic.
Audio
Only three vendors in the file price audio as a separate row: Kling (native audio on/off), Google Vertex AI (video vs video + audio) and Runway (veo3.1 and kling3.0 audio variants). Everywhere else the audio question does not change the price, and the calculator greys it out rather than implying a discount.
The premiums are large enough to matter. Veo 3.1 at 1080p is $0.20 per clip without audio and $0.40 with it. Kling 3.0 at 1080p is $0.112 per second without native audio and $0.168 with it, a 50% increase.
Quantity
Straight multiplication: clips × price per clip. The batch total is the number to budget with, because it is where minimum charges and retries start to matter.
Output
The calculator returns four numbers and one warning.
| Output | Definition |
|---|---|
| Per-clip price | The rate for one clip at the selected duration and resolution |
| Batch total | Per-clip price × quantity |
| Effective price per second | Batch total ÷ (duration × quantity), so per-clip and per-second models land on one scale |
| Cheapest comparable row | The lowest-priced row at the same resolution and billing type, with its vendor named |
| Warning line | Lists what the total excludes: retries, minimum charges, reference-image credits, tax |
Worked examples
| Scenario | Arithmetic | Result |
|---|---|---|
| One 8s 1080p clip, no audio, Kling 3.0 | 8 × $0.112 | $0.896 |
| 20 clips, 8s 1080p, native audio, Kling 3.0 | 8 × $0.168 × 20 | $26.88 |
| 12 clips, 5s 1080p, Luma Ray T2V | 12 × $1.20 | $14.40 |
One 8s 4K clip, Runway gemini_omni_flash_1.2 |
8 × $0.21 | $1.68 |
Where the number goes wrong
Minimum charges. Six Runway models bill a floor: aleph2 56 credits, seedance2 56, seedance2_5 80, seedance2_fast 44, seedance2_mini 28, kling_4_flash 29. At aleph2's 28 credits per second, a 1-second clip still bills 56 credits — $0.56, not $0.28. The calculator flags this when duration × rate falls under the minimum.
Input video on Runway. For gemini_omni_flash (video to video) and several Seedance rows, input video is billed at the same per-second rate as output, capped at 10 or 30 seconds. An 8-second output from a 10-second source on seedance2_5 (1080p) bills 8 × $0.68 for output plus 10 × $0.34 for input, not 8 × $0.68.
Reference images. 1 credit per reference image on most Gemini rows, 2 credits on hailuo3. One credit is $0.01.
Credit rounding. Runway rounds up to the next credit on some rows; kling_4_flash rounds up and enforces a 29-credit minimum. At $0.094 per second, a 3-second clip bills 29 credits ($0.29), not 28.2 credits.
Promotions. kling_4 is 20% off through 2026-11-30 UTC. The calculator uses the current promotional rate and shows the list rate beside it.

FAQ
Why does the calculator ask for audio separately?
Because only Kling, Vertex AI and Runway publish separate audio and no-audio rates, and the gap is 20% to 100%. For every other vendor the toggle does nothing, so the calculator disables it instead of inventing a price difference.
Why can't I enter 7 seconds for Luma or Hailuo?
Those vendors sell fixed-length clips — Luma at 5s and 10s, Hailuo at 6s and 10s — and their pricing pages list one price per length. There is no published per-second rate to prorate, so a 7-second estimate would be our arithmetic, not their price.
Does the batch total include failed generations?
No. It counts successful clips only. If one in five attempts fails and you retry until you get a usable clip, expect to pay about 25% more (1 ÷ 0.8). No vendor in the file publishes a retry allowance or a refund policy on its pricing page.
Can I use this for Pika or HeyGen?
Not for a per-clip number. Both sell monthly credit plans and neither pricing page states how many credits one video costs. The calculator shows their plan prices and cost per credit, then stops. See Pika and HeyGen.
Source and date. Every price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 2026-11-08 and stored in one file of 153 usable rows (Runway 60, Kling 27, Google Vertex AI 21, Luma 15, MiniMax/Hailuo 11, fal.ai 6, Pika 5, HeyGen 4, OpenAI 2, Replicate 2). A 154th record for Higgsfield failed extraction and is excluded. Resale rows are labelled: fal.ai, Replicate and the third-party models on Runway host another company's model and are not the model owner's official rate.
